Description

Facilitator prepares material according to the group needs and as suggested in advice.

STEP 1:

Facilitator displays the first information to participants. They will read – watch whole information. They need to decide if the information could be trusted or not. Facilitator gives them printed handout and participants will follow suggested steps to uncover the reliability of the information. If the presented information is a story, participants decide who will tell a story and others become a “journalist”. After presenting the situation, they will use steps suggested in handout to uncover the reliability of information.

STEP 2:

Facilitator displays second information to participants. They repeat the procedure as in the previous step.

STEP 3:

Facilitator can initiate a discussion about how easy or difficult the uncovering of information reliability was. Was it easy/hard? Would participants suggest any additional steps for uncovering the reliability of given information?

Advice for Facilitators

Prepare at least two types of recent information, article, story, or video. One reliable and one which can be marked as information disorder. Prepare it for displaying to the group (video, article etc.).

Facilitator has an overview of the module 7 Digital Skills, so he can suggest tools for verifying of the videos, pictures or information.
