Description

  1. This activity starts as an individual task. Each student should go online and search for examples of news articles discussing ethical issues or news articles with a clear ethical component. Examples could be articles about abortion rights, migration shelter, etc. The students get 15 to 20 minutes time for this task. Each student should find at least one news article.
  2. Next, the students are put together in small groups and discuss the articles they found. The discussion should be about the ethical issue, the different sides of the issue, and potential solutions. This discussion should take about 15 minutes.
  3. Within each group, one article is selected and presented to the whole class. This presentation can be short and should only last a few minutes.

Advice for Facilitators

Make sure a diversity of ethical issues is presented in the classroom. You can encourage students to ask questions to elaborate on the presentations of their peers and to enable a discussion on the issue presented.
